Jerry and I are spending the weekend in Jersey City, NJ with my sister and brother-in-law. They live in the adorable
Paulus Hook neighborhood. They live right by the Hudson, across from downtown Manhattan.
We got here around noon and had burgers for lunch, made with grass-fed Jersey beef.

Brioche buns, so good! |
|
Chipotle sauce |
|
A side of fries and grilled zucchini |
|
So good! |
|
Just one lonely burger left... |
After lunch Lauren and I headed out for a while and then met Jerry and Brett at the
Iron Monkey for a few drinks. They have an awesome patio on the roof. It was hot, but the beer was cold!

Jerry! |
|
Brett! |
We stopped at a candy store on the way home so Jerry could pick out some treats.

My favorite jelly bean! (I resisted) |
For dinner Lauren made Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas with Creamy Tomatillo Sauce from
Rick Bayless' cookbook
Fiesta at Rick's. She used onion, bell pepper, carrot, turnip, Swiss chard, corn, and zucchini. It had the perfect amount of heat.
|
Roasted tomatillos, onion, garlic, jalapeno |
|
Pureed! |
|
Spicy and delicious |
With dinner we had watermelon margaritas and Jerry had a watermelon mojito. Brett even pureed the watermelon! So refreshing on a warm evening.

Tomorrow we are getting up bright and early to head to
Central Park. Lauren, Jerry, and Brett are going for a run, and I am going to wander through the park with my camera.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
